Back To The Future in Orthodontics in 2025
By Dr. Sandy Bigman, President CDABO
Excitement is building! Our next Annual Meeting will be at the breathtaking, five-star Broadmoor resort July 11th-14th, 2025. It has been years in the making as we have been working to provide an amazing scientific lecture line-up and fantastic activities for the family.
For me, Back to the Future has a deeper meaning. Yes, I’m a fan of the movie but it applies to our organization and profession. Getting the college back to the grand meetings of the past while looking to the future of orthodontics and where we as a profession are going. It also means providing exceptional continuing education to inspire doctors to reach new heights with new ideas and thoughts on how to provide the best care to our patients. We wanted to make this location attractive and accessible by selecting a location in the middle of the country. Colorado Springs has two airport options: Denver International Airport or Colorado Springs International Airport. There is so much to see and do at the resort that you really won’t have to leave the property.
The resort shuttle will give you access to not only 8 on property restaurants, but two championship golf courses (walking distance from the lobby), spa, infinity pool, bowling center, tennis and pickleball, shopping, movie theatre, soaring adventure zip lining, climb up Seven Falls, falconry, visit to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where you can feed the largest concentration of giraffe’s in North America or having an evening making smores with the family by one of the outdoor fireplaces.
If you do choose to leave the property, there is Wild West Experience with axe throwing, archery and pellet guns, the famous Pike’s Peak Cog Railway (Dr. Vaught swears by the donuts at the top of the tram), fly fishing, biking, hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, visiting the Olympic Museum, Garden of the Gods natural park, ice skating at the Olympic Training Center, climb the famous Manitou Incline, take the family to the North Pole Christmas amusement park. You may even consider coming a few days earlier or staying later! This meeting captures the essence of the College summer meetings: amazing activities in a spectacular location.
I’m already excited about the President’s Dinner with the “Enchantment Under the Sea Dance”. Bring your best prom and/or 50’s outfit to rock out. With four years of planning, we have left no stone unturned. Between now and the summer of 2025, there may be even more surprises.
Where we are going, we don’t need roads!! Tell your friends and colleagues to join us. For more resort history, check out Broadmoor.com/the-resort/history. See you at the Broadmoor!
