The College of Diplomates Announces New Officers and Councilors
The College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics installed new officers and councilors during its annual meeting held July 15-19, 2011 at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.
The College installed Dr. Rodney Hyduk of Troy, Michigan as president; Dr. Michael Guess of El Dorado Hills, California as president-elect; Dr. Robert Moss of Albany, Georgia as secretary and Dr. Kimsey Anderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico as treasurer. Dr. Erick Dellinger of Angola, Indiana was installed as new incoming councilor. Dr. Kenneth M. Hrechka of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Dr. James Williams of Austin, Texas, Dr. Paul Miller of Quincy, Illinois and Dr. Terry Sobler of New City, New York will continue to serve on the College Council. Dr. Dorothy Whalen of Glen Cove, New York was honored for her contributions as 2010-2011 president and will continue to serve on the Council as the immediate past president.
Dr. Perry Opin was awarded the College's Founders Award for his exceptional dedication to the College and for his leadership example to the College Council and the orthodontic community. The 2011 Samir Bishara Award of Merit was presented to Dr. John Whitaker and Dr. Peter Worth for their unselfish contributions to the College, by volunteering their time to give review courses for the ABO Clinical Exam at the AAO and PCSO Annual Sessions.
The 2012 College of Diplomates' Annual Meeting will be July 19-23 at The Inn at Bay Harbor in Bay Harbor, Michigan. Registration materials will be posted at www.cdabo.org and mailed to members next spring.
The College of Diplomates was founded in 1979 to stimulate improvement among orthodontists, to encourage orthodontists to become board-certified and to educate the public and the dental profession on the benefits of board certification.
