The College of Diplomates Announces New Officers and Councilors

The College of Diplomates installed new officers and one councilor during its Annual Meeting held July 13-17 in Big Sky, Montana

Dr. Tucker Haltom

The College installed Dr. Tucker Haltom of Albuquerque, New Mexico as president; Dr. Philip Markin of Columbia, Maryland as president-elect; Dr. Dorothy Whalen of Glen Cove, New York as secretary; Dr. Jim Morrow of McKinney, Texas as treasurer; Dr. Michael Guess of El Dorado Hills, California as senior councilor and Dr. Kimsey Anderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico as junior councilor. Dr. Rodney Hyduk of Troy, Michigan, Dr. Steven Marshall of Barrington, Illinois and Dr. Robert Moss of Albany, Georgia will continue to serve on the College Council. Dr. Thomas Skafidas of Atlanta, Georgia was honored for his contributions as 2007-2008 president, and will continue to serve on the board as the immediate past president.

Dr. David Turpin of Federal Way, Washington received the Award of Merit for his support of and dedication to The College of Diplomates.

Dr. William Wallert of Potomac, Maryland received the Founders Award for his exceptional distinguished service to The College.

The 2009 College of Diplomates Annual Meeting will be July 17 - 21 at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. Registration materials will be mailed to members next spring.

The College of Diplomates was founded in 1979 to stimulate improvement among orthodontists, to encourage orthodontists to become board-certified and to educate the public and the dental profession on the benefits of board certification.
